Are my uploaded documents stored or saved with my history?

No. Document contents are never persisted. PromptForge uses your files only for the in-the-moment prompt build, then discards the text. When you open a past entry in your History, you'll see an Attached Documents card listing only the file names — separated into Reference documents and Sent with Test — while the body of the saved prompt shows the marker [Document contents not stored in history]. Re-upload your files if you want to re-run a prompt against the same source material.

Can I drag and drop files onto PromptForge?

Yes. Both the Reference Documents zone (used during prompt building) and the Attach Documents for Test zone (used when testing a prompt) accept drag-and-drop. Drag one or more files from your desktop directly onto the zone — the border highlights when you're over a valid drop target. Drag-drop respects the same limits as the file picker: up to 5 files, 20 MB total, TXT, MD, CSV, PDF, or DOCX.

Can I compare two saved prompts side by side?

Yes. On the History page, tick the checkbox on exactly two entries and click Compare Selected. PromptForge shows both prompts side by side — inputs, generated prompt text, and any saved AI responses — with the differences highlighted so you can quickly see how a single change to your inputs affected the result. This is the fastest way to A/B test prompt iterations and learn what works.
